Training information

PDS Nigeria is conducting Computer Networking training courses using MikroTik as a learning tool. MikroTik Certificates are issued to participants who successfully complete the training courses and pass the certification exams in the various courses. The training is conducted in partnership with MikroTik Latvia.

The training is meant for Engineers, Technicians, System Integrators and Managers who would like to learn about routing and managing wired and wireless networks using MikroTik RouterOS.

The training is conducted in English Language in all our training centers in Nigeria. It can be delivered in any other Language in any country around the world on request.

Training Requirements

Each participant will be equipped with a RouterBOARD with at least 1 Wireless and 5 Ethernet interfaces. The participants are however required to come with a laptop computer with functional Ethernet port and Wireless capability.

Soft copy of the training handouts will be made available to all participants at the beginning of each course.

Training Prerequisites

Prior basic knowledge of networking, to include IP addressing and IP subnet calculations will help participants to fit in properly in the training class.

Training Courses

1.      MTCNA – MikroTik Certified Network Associate

Duration:        3 days

Outcomes:      By the end of this training session, the student will be familiar with RouterOS software and RouterBOARD products and be able to connect a client to the Internet. He will also be able to configure, manage, do basic troubleshooting of a MikroTik router and provide basic services to clients.

Target audience:         Network engineers and technicians planning to deploy and support:

  • Corporate networks
  • Client CPEs (WISPs and ISPs)

Course prerequisites:           The student must have a good understanding of TCP/IP and subnetting.

 

2.      MTCRE – MikroTik Certified Routing Engineer

Duration:        2 days

Outcomes:      By the end of this training session, the student will be able to setup and manage networks using Static Routing, Policy Routing, PtP Addressing, Virtual Private Network, OSPF etc.

Target audience:       Network engineers and technicians planning to deploy and support:

  • Corporate networks
  • Client CPEs (WISPs and ISPs)

Course prerequisites:           The student must have passed MTCNA.

 

3.      MTCWE – MikroTik Certified Wireless Engineer

Duration:        2 days

Outcomes:      By the end of this training session, the student will be familiar with Wireless Installations and hardware, 802.11 a/b/g/n Wireless Standard, Wireless Tools in MikroTik, Wireless Troubleshooting, Wireless Advanced Settings, Wireless Security, WDS and MESH, Wireless Bridging and Nv2 Protocol

Target audience:       Network engineers and technicians planning to deploy and support wireless Networks.

Course prerequisites:           The student must have passed MTCNA.

 

4.      MTCTCE – MikroTik Certified Traffic Control Engineer

Duration:        2 days

Outcomes:      By the end of this training session, the student will be able to setup and manage networks using the following features; Firewall filter/NAT/mangle, Quality of Service configurations, DNS client/cache, DHCP client/relay/server, Web Proxy etc.

Target audience:       Network engineers and technicians planning to deploy and support firewalls and QoS on their Networks.

Course prerequisites:           The student must have passed MTCNA.

 

5.      MTCUME – MikroTik Certified User Management Engineer

Duration:        2 days

Outcomes:      By the end of this training session, the student will be able to securely manage large scale RouterOS based network with centralized user management/RADIUS.

Target Audience:       Network engineers and technicians planning to deploy and support large scale corporate networks.

Course prerequisites:           The student must have passed MTCNA

 

6.      MTCIPv6E – MikroTik Certified IPv6 Engineer

Duration:        2 days

Outcomes:      By the end of this training session, the student will be familiar with IPv6 protocol and be able to implement IPv6 network.

Target Audience:       Network engineers and technicians planning to deploy, support or migrate to IPv6 based network in:

  • Corporate networks
  • Client CPEs (WISPs and ISPs)

Course prerequisites:           The student must have passed MTCNA

 

7.      MTCINE – MikroTik Certified Inter-networking Engineer

Duration:        4 days

Outcomes:      By the end of this training session, the student will be able to manage large scale ISP networks which require knowledge of BGP, MPLS, VPLS, VRF and Traffic Engineering.

Target Audience:       Network engineers and technicians planning to deploy and support large scale ISP networks.

Course prerequisites:           The student must have passed MTCNA and MTCRE
